Centre Information

Here are a few questions we asked quite a bit…

Do our educators need to be present while GrowFit classes are being run?

Yes they do. Our trainer does not form part of the child/educator ratio so you will need to have educators present in the normal operating ratios for each age group.

What happens if our GrowFit session time is going to clash with a scheduled preschool event?

Please plan ahead and let us know in advanceif you cannot have your GrowFit class at the normal time. We can adjust the class time for that day or schedule a make up session for you at the end of the term.

Common examples are :

Easter Hat parade

Mother Day Morning Tea

Other incursions such as fire brigade , police, dentist etc

What if our class day falls on a public holiday?

We will run a make up session at the end of the term so that all 10 sessions have been completed.

Do educators need to be involved in collecting money and enrolments?

No. We have made this as easy as possible. All enrolments are done online and payments are done directly with the parents through Ezidebit so your educators do not have to worry about any of this.

Are you able to accept cash or cheque payment from parents?

No, please advise your parents that payment is through Ezidebit only. If they have any questions the can call or email us.

What happens if it raining?

This will depend on the facilities at your centre. Most centres have sufficient space to run the class indoors in wet weather but if this is not the case a make up session will be held at the end the that term.

What happens if it is very hot?

If temperatures are to exceed 35 degrees celcius we may need to move the class earlier or postpone it. This will depend on the layout of your centre and the availability of shade or undercover area.

If a class is postponed due to heat a make up class will be held at the end of the term.

Centre Paid Centres

Will your centre be paying for the classes? If yes then this section is for you.
What is the maximum number of children per class?

  • All Stars  3-5yrs –  20 children
  • Mini All Stars 2-3yrs – 15 children
  • Infant Stars 0-2yrs – 10 children

Do our educators need to be present while GrowFit classes are being run?

Yes they do. Our trainer does not form part of the child/educator ratio so you will need to have educators present in the normal operating ratios for each age group.

Can we mix age groups together?

Yes we are able to combine All Stars and Mini All Stars together.

In some cases we are able to combine Mini All Stars and Infant Stars together depending on the mix of ages and developmental stages of the children.

How do we pay?

Payment is in advance. You will be emailed an invoice for upcoming classes. This is done at the beginning of each 4 week block for the upcoming 4 weeks.

What if our class day falls on a public holiday?

We will run a make up class at the end of the term so that the full 10 week program has been completed. You will be invoiced for that make up lesson in the 4 week block in which it will be held.

What if we wish to change our booking mid-term?

Once a term has begun we require you to complete that term with the agreed upon number of classes. In very rare circumstances we may make an exception so please contact annette@growfit.com.au or mike@growfit.com.auif you wish to discuss this.

Will we be made aware of the weekly lesson plans?

Yes. Alix Searson is our Early Childhood Advisor and Curriculum Coordinator. She will email you weekly on Mondays outlining the conceptual learning, skills, knowledge and NQS and EYLF links covered in the weeks session.

Are we able to receive the planned program for the upcoming term?

Yes we are able to send you a timetable of topics and activities for the upcoming 10 week term upon request.

Who do we contact if we have any feedback regarding the weekly lesson plans?

Please contact our Early Childhood Advisor and Curriculum Coordinator Alix Searson on alix@growfit.com.au.

She will be very happy to answer questions and receive suggestions. We are continually striving to keep our program at the highest level possible and greatly value your feedback.

Parent Paid Centres

Will your parents be paying?

If yes then this section is for you. If no, then please refer to the section below on Centre Paid Centres.

How many children do we need enrolled to be able to start a class?

You will need a minimum of 10 children enrolled to be able to begin running weekly classes. This number can be made of both Mini All Stars ( 2-3yrs) and All Stars (3-5yrds) combined.

Infant Stars ( 0-2yrs) are not able to be combined with the older groups. If we already have an older class with 10 children running then we are able to start running an Infants Stars class as well once we reach 5 enrolments.

We cannot start an Infants Stars class as the only class at your centre unless we reach at least 8 enrolments.

What are the maximum numbers of children we can have in a class?

  • All Stars  3-5yrs –  20 children
  • Mini All Stars 2-3yrs – 15 children
  • Infant Stars 0-2yrs – 10 children

How will I know how many children have enrolled so far?

Once you have completed your Learn to Grow Week, you need to send our Enrol Now pdf to all of your parents. We will set up a class list for your centre and you will be sent a URL so you can access your class list at any time. You can then keep an eye on enrolments as they come in. This will enable you to know which parents might need extra encouragement to complete the task.

Please use your URL to regularly check your class list. The lists are updated daily as new children enrol or leave.

What happens if our class numbers drop during the term?

Occasionally numbers do drop due to children changing days or leaving the centre. We will always complete a term that we have started but may need to make a decision not to continue into the next term if we no longer have enough children enrolled.

Do we need to ask our parents to re-enrol at the start of each term?

No. Once they have enrolled, enrolment is assumed for the remainder of that year.

Do parents need to re-enrol at the start of a new year if their child is continuing?

Yes. All enrolments and direct debit authority agreements are cancelled at the end of the year and must be completed again to participate in Term 1 of the next year.

What happens if a parent has already paid for the term but then they change their child’s days or leave the centre?

Please advise them to contact annette@growfit.com.au.

We can cancel their enrolment and refund the unused portion of the term.

What do I do if our trainer doesn’t turn up at the scheduled time?

Unfortunately occasionally things do go wrong. Trainers may be stuck in traffic, or have a sudden accident or illness occur. Please call Annette on 0422 835 710 to advise and we will do our best to find out what is happening or schedule a make up session if need be.
